So i purchased a small frag of sps and attached was a crab. I am wondering if it is reefsafe or if it eats sps.
It is about half-inch in length, clear with a red tinge; 2 pincers.
I will try to upload a picture.

frag is in the aquarium already; crab doesn't care to leave the frag.

Is it possible it is a coral guard crab?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
It is probably an acropora crab and harmless. I love them.

Go to liveaquaria.com or google them.

Kinda hard to see it from that angle, but as already stated, it's most likely an acro crab. FWIW, most quality vendors try to ensure that each frag they sell has one. OTOH, most bad hitchhikers come in on larger pieces of rock, not coral frags.
