Hi all! Well it's finally happening. My 55g is up and running. Many special thanks to Wildreef for parting with a 55 g tank and stand to me (practically given to me). We are using some live sand from his supply and a Cascade 1500 canister filtering system.

I can't tell you all how grateful I am to Wildreef for his knowledge and support in this new endeavor of mine. I have always dreamed of having a saltwater reef system and with his help it is finally becoming reality. I know he can be overbearing sometimes but he is really goodhearted and knowledgeable. I am very thankful that he is willing to teach a novice like me. He basically trained me on SG 101 and even brought his refraction meter and showed me how it worked.

Our next step is to add some live rock and then some lights.

Don't worry Luna, there will be pics very soon. I will keep everyone posted on the progress and post pics as soon as possible.

All replys and comments are welcome. This forum has been very imformative for me and I will continue to look to it for support and information on my journey.

Yes. I totally trust Wildreef. I know he won't steer me wrong.

We are also looking for an Ro/di unit to purchase.

I have been doing a lot of reading here in the forum and elsewhere and Wildreef takes all my input seriously and into consideration.

Goodmorning! Update on the tank. Some live rock has now been added. I am finding myself just sitting in front of the tank and watching for hours to see if I see any new "additions". lol So far have seen 3-4 little type starfish and one pretty large bristleworm and really small maybe "ghost shrimp". Should I leave the bristleworm be or remove him? He went into hiding when I turned the lights on this morning. lol This is quickly becoming addicting. Going back to lfs today for more supplies. lol
