So I bought a 110G acrylic tank off of craigslist a while back. It had a few deep scratches and tons of small surfaces scratches. I did my research on how to repair and refinish the tank. Got all the tools I needed and started sanding just the inside face of the tank. I went from 220> 400> 600> 800> 1000> 2000 grit. After I finished with the 2000 it looked perfect no scratches and crystal clear, it was pretty amazing. Then as instructed i began polishing the acrylic with a turtle wax polishing compound, applied it, then buffed it out and wiped off the film. What i found was it hazed up in certain areas where I was sanding, you could see the strokes of the sander after polishing but not before. I didn't think that was supposed to happen, i actually thought it was the opposite that was supposed to happen. Do I need to polish if it looks great without it? I know it's not rocket science but I just want to do the best job that I can. If anybody out there has refinished an acrylic tank before and has any advice it would be very helpful.

    Thanks,
    Noble
