So I have some rubble, chaeto growing like crazy and other misc stuff in the fuge and just noticed some bubble algae growing on the sand. Should I be taking this crap out or letting my fuge be a fuge and have it grow everything that is nasty? I am concerned with this stuff growing and possibly trying to take over my chaeto

Let it all grow - whatever pop's up in the fuge just let it be. That's the reason you have the fuge, to let it grow there and not in your DT.

BTW, I don;t think anything can take over Cheato. If the refugium gets too overgrown you can begin to do a little "weeding". Just move slow as to not disturb it too much. The less poking the better when it comes to the refugium.

Thanks for the info, I figured the refugium was for anything goor or bad to grow but wanted to make sure.I'll just let it be and do its own thing.

I have hair algae growing on my chaeto, I had no clue that was possible, but I guess it is. It slowed my chaeto growth quite a bit actually. I had cyano growing in there too, but has since died off. I have all kinds of weird stuff in there, but it doesn't look like a swamp, just a very green tank is all. I also have hard coralline algae growing all over the walls, skimmer pump and pipes.
