well, im a little embarrassed to show this design.. LOL not the best you have seen. Im not an artist but i think it covers my point.

Its just a rough sketch of what im planning on doing. I still dont have the measurements since i dont have the tank yet.. But i will upload those when i get it.

the red dots is supposed to be eggcrate dividing each thing..

    what do you guys think??

also, i put question marks on the divider of the refugium/ skimmer section.. i dont know how that works, i just saw it in someone else's refugium.. thoughts?

i would put the skimmer/reactor section first. that lets the pods get from the fuge to the display tank without getting skimmed out.
distance between the bubble trap should be 1 inch from the bottom and 1 inch in between the baffles.

there are quite a few designs out there for sump/fuge builds though.

I would personally switch where your skimmer section is. That was you can collect the dirtiest water by the skimmer.

    Something along this line

Outflow from tank > Skimmer Section > Refugium > Return Section

The baffles will work the same, just rearrange the order.

Bah you beat me to it above poster LOL

Figured I'd add this quick sketch in.

The measurements are completely arbitrary, just to show that the fuge section of baffles is slightly lower then the 1st baffle, to have a evaporation chamber, and keeping the skimmer level the same.

You could have all the baffled the same height. The skimmer section will stay the same height and the return section will always be the section that lowers with evaporation. I see no need for the lower baffle. Other than taking away from the fuge size lol

ok, i took the advice given and got this. Good?

the "baffle" is the section where i have the dividers at different heights right? whats the purpose of them? ( sorry im not familiar at all with this kind of things)

also, where would the bubble trap be located?

The purpose is to break up an micro bubbles that may form.

No need for the baffle for the drain. Just have it drain by the skimmer. Again, the fuge baffle can raise to match the skimmer baffle height.
The 3 baffles is a bubble trap so microbubbles from the drain and skimmer don't make it to the return pump and end up in the dt.

i just have that because im having activated carbon in the green box.. in case something would fall, i can easily pick it up and prevent anything from getting into the skimmer/reactors other than water.
