I dont plan to put fish or anything in it...I plan to treat it like a place to grow algae...I'm just after is it possible to keep it looking good and have it still do its job? it can look good in a algae kind of way...The only reason I'm looking at this option is if I put it under my tank I have VERY VERY little access to it. and that scares me. thoughts?

I dont see a problem with keeping the tank presentable with Algae. I have Cyano, and Bubble, and all kinds of nasty stuff under there. But nothing in the DT. My theory is if it grows under there, it will hog what it needs from the DT. It has just been what has worked for me. I am sure the other way works for others. Just remember something about this site. Everyone means well, and is trying to help. Everyone does things a little different. I like to read all of the different ways of doing things. Then I go with what my gut tells me is right. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it does not. But all tanks are a little different. Do what is right for you. I was just giving you someone else's view.:)

Your post is what I'm looking for...I need opinions and experiences, My 1st plan was to cut another door in my stand but everyone thought that was a bad idea. so here I am looking at my options. Another options is put it in a stand next to the tank vs on the stand :)

ok, so after reading and looking at pictures I put my sump and fuge back in my stand and took a little room from the sump. Here are the pictures I think I can make this work..It gives me the room I need to empty the skimmer cup but thats about it. take a look at the pictures and give me some input...

That should work, Are you going to run any kind of filters...IE Bags, Drip tray?? Remember you need some room to work under there. There will be pipes, hoses, cords, etc. Just plan it well. Once that tank is full, it is hard to change things.
