So I have good flow through my sump and the refugium section. But the rocks and micro algae in there get covered in muck every few days. Is this normal? Should I put a small power head in there? Any other suggestions?

Define "muck"? If it's like the detritus gunk that can start piling up at the bottom of your sump, then stir it up and let the return pump send some of it into your display tank. The corals will eat it :p We started doing this a while ago by just kicking up the gunk with a turkey baster every now and then, and soon our sump will be gunk free. And our corals are thriving and happy as ever.

This tip was given to us by Tangster, btw. I'm not taking credit for it. It's too awesome. Free coral food is fine by me.

Most likely detritus, for the most part anyway. But it's not just settling to the bottom, it's settling on the rocks and such.

So I should just shoot it up to the tank?
