So I just cleared out the center section of my 3 section sump, fitting my overflow, skimmer, both heaters and pump for my gfo/carbon reactors... whew. Anyways, the baffle wall leading to my last section where my return pump is has the water going under the baffle then over into the last section. I have just realized that if I put in a deep sand beed I would stop this flow and it would raise over the baffle walls. no good. What can I do? Just go with cheato? or a cheato and live rock rumble combo? or is there a way to still have a DSB?

Get some acrylic cut to suite and over lap it over the baffle, silicone it in. That's what I would do.

I do not want to drain the sump and stop everything etc etc. I think the container in the sump of sand is an easier solution!

cheap 7 dollar plastic tank, comes with the cheap vented lip for "critters" had to cut the side rim to fit it in but works and looks great. BIG bonus, lift in and out with out the mess. I would suggest doing this no matter the needs just for that option.

Nice, that will def make it easier if you decide you don't want the sand in there or anything like that.
