so i'm sure its been done but i can't find any info. i got a crazy idea after doing a little look see around to figure out the best setup for my 29 gallon tank for refugium use. i have had this 10 gallon around for a few yrs i can't seem to toss (it might be handy one day).;D anyway, somehow using both the 10 and 29 as a single refugium working together. a inlet/rubble tank for one and sand bed/algea tank for the other with protien and such being more than likely in the 29g. i would love to get a better system and get rid of my fx5. i love my fx5 but its a pain to clean in my stand (i have to drain it and pull all the media out with it under my stand as the openings are to small to drag it out plus its too tall so i have to tip it sidways too:-/) just curious. one of my lfs sell tanks for $1 a gallon up to 80 gallon long too so thats also a possible method. just wondering if i could use the stuff laying around.;D

    thanks for any input.

I would think you would be able to split the fuge. Just have one trickle into the other one.

I guess it could be done, but why not just glue some dividers to do the same effect? Unless you put them side by side, instead of one inside the other. Luna

Use a U tube or an overflow box should work just fine

well i did manage to find info on this site saying a fuge should be a min of 20% of the tank size so my 29 gallon should be at that min (limited undertank space unless i gut the cabinets in the kitchen and steal those :p) now i'm curious about the whole wet/dry setups. i hear they are the way to go but really have no idea about size and and what not. i also have the 3 MH power box a ma jigs underther to contend with for space :-/. i'd love get get away from my fx5 but need some sizes for everything thrown at me and i can start from there.:)

How big is your tank..the one with corals/fish in it?
    Mine is 55...and I built a 3 stage fuge/sump/return out of 30 gallons...but I had to build a custom stand...sometimes you gotta pull the trigger...some of these pre made stands just don't get'r done.. : )
