Whats something interesting I could put in my refugium? I was thinking just some snails, crabs, and a peppermint shrimp but if you all have any suggestions, shoot!

Well, I got sand and LR in there right now, DT has triggers in it, nothing up there! Im thinking about removing the sand in the refugium(what do you think) and just putting LR and chaeto in there.

I've got a 5 gallon HOB and I have 4" of sand and a huge ball of chaeto. It's pretty new, so I don't have any snails yet, but once I start getting some algae growth on the sides, I will move a few from my DT.

The question is whether or not you will ever want to look at the refugium. A shrimp wouldn't be worthwhile if it is just going to sit in a sump under a tank stand.

I would inspect it sometimes. I think it would just be cool to look into every once in awhile and see a shrimp doing work on the rocks or chillen in a rock...reading a book.

No shrimp - add detrivores to keep the sandbed clean.
