refugium light - 24/7 or RDP?

    what do you do and what do you think i should do?
    i have chaeto in my fuge so there's no chance it will go sexual.

    I do 14 hrs on and 10 hrs off..I don't believe it goes sexual thats why people love it..

    i know it doesn't go sexual that's why i'm debating between 24/7 and RDP. if the algae was going sexual like caulerpa then there was no doubt and i would keep it 24/7. but with chaeto, i really don't know.

    i wish there was unanimous vote on that one. my little research showed that more people are voting for 24/7 but there are many that go with the RDP. *sigh*
    24/7 is also good for the PH? cause i know that the whole idea behind RDP is preventing PH drops.

    RDP save a little energy and allow the cheato to have a normal light cycle.

    RDP is necessary for some kinds of algae, or you can get them going sexual.

    Then again, for others, 24/7 is necessary, or they can go sexual.

    It's ok for ph, personally I don't worry about the drop that much.

    the plants will grow the most under 24/7 lighting. The only reason a plant ever needs darkness is for queing hormonal changes for reproduction.
