Last night my refugium light fell in to my tank. Tripped the GFCI. Everything was okay with the exception of the light. I have an open refugium that I grow mangroves in. I would be willing to build some sort of structure to suspend the light. (ie. pvc piping. I have seen picture of this) Any ideas? Possibly you could post pictures of your setup, or a link to help.

I use one of those regular old $10 aluminum clip on shop lights from the Lowe's. One or two of them & you'd have plenty of light.

My thoughts exactly. I am looking for ideas on how to suspend that. Please see the pvc piping on the attached link. Scroll down and you will see it.

i had the same thing happen to me a few days ago. my light was set up like yours in the pic and barley reached from side to side of the tank and ended up someone falling in. Luckily the light was on a timer and was off. But my light was shot. I ended up getting a longer light fixture one of those cheap t8 housing that come stock on top of aquariums. Then got a zoomed 18in bulb and mounted it long ways from end to end instead of across the sides of the tank. I just used some small wooding and put it across the tank for the light to sit on and the other end of the light sits on edge of the tank since the light isnt long enough to stretch all the way across my tank width wise good luck! should be a easy simple fix
