I fall asleep in my fish room all the time with the 24/7 refugium light.

I can fall asleep now just fine but my refuge is now covered almost in brown algae. I just set it up about 2 weeks ago. Is this normal for my refuge cuz isn't it supposed to cut down the algae in my tank. I have grape calpura and some other kind. I'm not sure when to trim them though they have gotten bigger since I bought them. I'm a gardener too but i'm not sure how to trim my grape calpura.

    Glad to hear your sleeping!

Your refugium will cycle the same as your tank. Don't panic for at least the next six months.

will the algae from my refuge get into my main tank. How can it cycle because it's just my main tank water cycling thru it. I see these little white things that are moving around with white bodies and a tiny white tail.  Are these copepods? Another thing when I trim my grape calpura and my brillopad macroalgae do I have to take the plant out of the water to trim them or just trim them under the water. When I trim them could I give them to my friend for his refuge and would they grow just as well as mine.

The cycle will be too small in all likelyhood to harm the display tank. That dilution thang!

how about those little white things in my tank are those copepods. there on my walls and they have little white bodies and tails. How and when do i trim my grape calpura and brillopad macroalgae. Also could I take the trim from my plants and give to my friend for his refuge and would it still act as a nitrate and phosphate remover.

Copepods or amphipods.  Yes you can "frag" your your macro algea for your friend!  Just rip some out and put it in a plastic bag of tank water.

I'd just take it out of the tank if it's free floating.
