Refugium lighting

    Finally putting together my refugium, got my sand and plants and my lfs told me to head out to home depot for power compact lights, are they referring to compact flurescent (yes it is spelled wrong) bulbs, I think that is what they are talking about, help?

    I havent seen Power Compacts at HD, only in LFS. HD does sell the spiral bulbs that many use on their refug. Looks something like this.........

    Just make sure its a daylight bulb between 5500K-6500K

    thanks luna, they did mention that it should be approx 6500 K, just added some anthias to my tank today and there starting to peek about the tank, I love this hobby

    Keep in mind that HDand the like dont sell bulbs that are made specificly(sp) for aquaria, you will find those kind of bulbs in aquarium stores.

    yah my actual lights for my tank I go through my lfs, the only lighting he was sending me to hd for was for the refugium, they pick up their refugium lighting their for the new tank set ups they do.
