    I was thinking about using it when I set up my fuge but I opted to go with just a lot of mature LR rubble and Macroalgae I didn't want another variable playing with my water chemistry. I have heard good things about it though.

    Save your money and use 100% clay (unscented) kitty litter. It's the same stuff that the expensive "miracle" muds are made of.

    YOU ARE KIDDING! I just spent $190 on MUD! When I have a thing of kitty litter downstairs:toilet:It already killed my sole to pay that much for "mud" but to read this like 2 weeks later!!

    C'mon now it's not that funny if it's your $190.
    It is well worth it (in this case $190) to use the search feature to try to research that before you buy. Maybe it's a topic hasn't been brought up recently, but maybe it was right here under your nose just 2 months ago. Even if you weren't yet a member at the time, the search still works and goes waaaayyyyy back.

    all that thread says is you can use kitty litter it says nothing about the quality of the refugium mud you can buy or if its worth it.
    also sorry schackmel i just thought it was funny.

    That's what we use but if you want to use "mud", using kitty litter is the more affordable way to go :)
