    So i have an ADHI 45 sump with the light that came with it, it has 2 32w pc bulbs? They did not grow my chaeto at all. It all died. I bought the sump used so i am guessing the bulbs are just years old and no good. What would be the best bulbs to use to grow macro with? My sump just has a bunch of rock in it and i want to put more chaeto in but need to get new bulbs first.

    6500k best for algae growth?

    Aye 6500k is great for this.

    I use a 6500k 32w CFL bulb like shown here:

    Works great. I used to use PC bulbs but I stopped when I couldn't find high enough kelvin anymore.
