Dont be mistaken, garlic does NOT cure ich and hasnt been proven to cure ich ever. BUT what it does do is cause the fish to eat, this way they stay strong and can fight off the ich.

Many believe it helps boost the fish's immune system, gaining more strength to fight disease and such. How true that is I don't know, but they do go crazy when that scent hits the tank :)

It has never been proven to do that, if you actually look it up you will see that garlic doesnt do anything for fish but really cause it to eat which in turn makes it stonger to fight the disease., but yea they def love love love that sent!!!!

If you've been using RO water and after 2 water changes your Tang gets ick there's is reason to at least suspect something is in the water making him sick which leads to stress which leads to ick.
Like discussed in that long thread about how you have great quality tap water up there in NY.. some folks may have crap water.

different types of caluerpa can also boost their immune system and a part of their natural diet

Does your Tang eat caulerpa? I didn't think anything would eat it but some strange nudibranch.
