    has anyone had a regal tang pick and actually eat corals? she is not starving feed well.
    I got her 6 months ago @ 3 inches. she is now about 5 inches.
    She is picking at sps and lps corals. :eek:

    I know PBT have been reported to do this.

    anyone? do i just have a devil of a regal tang? any idea's will she grow out of it?

    Probably wont grow out of it. I had one that started at about dime size, and ended up to be 7" in 2 years, Took it back to the LFS after it started eating corals and feather dusters... It also liked to rearrange frags too.

    thanks for the post - that's not good news - after doing some research it seems like many people have had this issue at one time getting her out will not be easy :cry: she is a great specimen of a regal.

    Try making sure it has some algae to graze on constantly in the tank. Usually when a tang is picking at corals it is not to eat the coral tissue itself but the algae within the corals tissues.

    Put a rock covered in algae in there he will constantly graze on it and probably leave your coral alone also he may just be picking at food on the coral.
