Regal Tang's eye is cloudy..

I was wondering if anyone could please help me..I got home from work today and my regal tang has a cloudy eye...just one. What can I do help her out? She seems to be acting ok...and she ate. My water params are on point...But i did just add a new refugium sump which added 30 new gallons of water to my tank...which caused my PH to drop from 8.3 to 7.9 for about a day...I used a buffer to get it back up to 8.3..Is that what caused this? I soak all the food in garlic...is there anything else i can do?

 

For now I would wait and watch. Soak your fish food in selcon to improve nutrition, and monitor. If the condition worsens, I would consider adding metronidazole and a binder such as Seachem Focus to the fishfood. If even that fails and the condition deteriorates, you may need to put the fish into quarantine and treat more aggressively. But I don't think you're there yet if all it is is a cloudy eye.

 

There is a product called Maracyn Plus by Mardel that I used when my Asphur Angel had pop eye. It's reef safe and it worked fast. The symptoms that it works against include eyes that are cloudy, hazy or protruding so it should fix you up fast. I used the liquid but it also comes in powder form. I had to call a few stores to see if anyone carried it. If you find it give it a try.

 

This same thing seems to happen to my yellow tang alot. His eye will be cloudy one day then clear the next. But his behavior has never changed and absolutly loves to eat.
