When my husband set up the live rock he made tunnels instead of a bunch of caves is that good for the fish or should i change it around and have some caves also ? Thanks

A little of both never hurt. Some of it will involve your planned livestock. Some fish like wrasse' & tangs are active swimmer so the tunnels will give them more creative swimming patterns. Other fish like black cap basslets for example like caves & over hangs so you have to take that into consideration.

Wondering...do you recommend pushing your live rock against the back of the inside of your take or save some room in the back for fish to swim behind?

That may be a matter of personal choice, but I prefer to leave a little space between for easy access behind the rocks. I think it also helps with circulation through and around the rockwork.

It's also good to leave a little room behind the rocks so you can clean the back glass. The flow behind your rocks will also help remove detritus.
