Thanks steve. it is amazing to get to see the growth of the corals. what you dont see in those photos are the 11 frags off the frogspawn when it fell over. there were 20 heads knocked off and it was still massive.

I posted this little excursion back in time as first just to show some background on the coral in my avatar. now that I look back and see it, I hope that others can look at where they are starting and know that in a few years, they will have something special. I also needed it as the big box I have now is rather empty in comparison to this old tank. Sadly, it was time to dismantle that tank. I had lost the battle with Tulip anems (mojanos) and they were just too much to overcome. the rock needed to be dried then cooked or risk a complete mojano takeover.

And yes, it is really neat to see the full growth shots of the corals. several didnt do anything for years then exploded and grew uncontrollably. I sold frags for anything in there for $10/ inch.

I know where your coming from with that
Terrible that the tank had to come down due to pest problems ( I have stripped down tanks to to the most common pest problem = other people , ex spouses and ex employers mainly )

I have often regretted not getting images for my previous set ups ( relatively late starter on forums and while I had the tanks, I didnt feel any need for pictures of them)

the main reason for coming down was the fact that we had to move on fairly short notice. Glad I did, and cannot wait for what I have now to look like this one did.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Ohhh so nice. I really miss my large system, but life happens. The good thing is that we learn our mistakes from out old systems and the new systems benefit from that experience.

I have always wondered about the monti in your avatar.

    Thank you for sharing.

Steve, I am kicking myself that I dont have any better recent photos after February. I know I took some, but only of some individual pieces and NONE of the whole tank except that actinics shot with the flash. UGH.
