    Hi All,
I have a fairly new Aqua C Remora Pro (been running just over a week) and it seems that when I feed my fish my "mix" of frozen food with drops from Kent Zoe and Kent Zoecon, the skimmer stops working ???
I need to feed my fishes (esp my blue tang) some vit A and vit C and have tried to use these vitamin additives to the frozen food (brine, bloodworms) in order to do it.
Question is.. is it normal for the skimmer to stop foaming after I feed ? Isn't this bad ? What can I do .. I mean is there other vitamin additives that don't do this ?
    Need some ideas... thanks...

    That is totally normal.

It's like the skimmer is saying, 'Holy crap! I've got something to do!' and it's stunned for a moment.  ;D

After it chews on it for a while, it skims like crazy.  ;) :)

Feeding is fine, but for some dosing, for instance if you threw a cap of iodine directly in the tank, I would turn it off the skimmer and let the corals suck up the iodine for several hours. That's just my experience. When I used to throw a lot of iodine in there, my skimmer would go nuts. Now I drip it with the evap water and leave the skimmer on.

    Thanks for the info...

    Other questions...

Since putting in the Remora Pro on my tank, my old seaclone skimmer has stopped skimming. I am running them both at the same time thinking that I would have better skimming.. Is it normal for the seaclone to stop skimming ??? Should I just retire the seaclone ?

btw, the stuff comming out of the remora pro is still watery yellow with black stuff in it.. should I keep raising the collection chamber until the skimmer stops producing liquid yellow stuff ?

    Thanks Matt !!

    Hi Mark,

Yeah there probably isn't enough (crap) for two skimmers. I'd retire the SeaClone why you try out the Remora.

It takes a while to find the sweet spot with the collection cup. If it's really watery, definitely raise it.

After a few weeks if you still are having trouble, you should check out my Remora Splatter Cap mod in the DIY section.

This mod makes the skimmate darker, but there is less of it in volume.

    Thanks Matt,

That is an interesting mod on the cap. Since my Remora is quite new (less than a month), I will wait a while. If after a month there is no change, ie the skim stuff is still yellowish, I will try your mod.

Thank you very much for your help and ideas !!!
