i found in another thread that someone silenced their aqua c remora skimmer by covering up the spray injector with a piece of that polyethylene foam pipe insulation that is used to wrap pipes in basements etc. So i naturally wanted to give this a try with my remora. i cut a small piece of the foam and fit it over the injector. this simple mod has cut the noise from my skimmer in half. my concern is that i took this piece of foam off of a copper pipe in the basement. i rinsed off the small piece very well before using it, but im just wondering if theres any chance that copper could contaminate my system from doing this. i dont think copper would rub off on or leach into a piece of foam that is just wrapping a pipe. i am probably just being paranoid....but advice is welcomed!

I don't think anyone has a 100% definitive answer for you. To be 100% safe, you could get a new piece but I imagine since you washed it and it not under water it should be OK.
... if your invertebrates start dying, you'll know it's poisonous... :-/
