Have you added anything to your tank. You said you cleaned it, it will take some time to start producing again.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about skimmer production on an hourly basis. I realize it's new to you but to watch it that closely just for skimmate make is a little over the top. I usually just worry about mine overflowing onto my floor ;D I'm sure it will be fine. Give it some time and also they are not real consistent as far as pulling X amount every Y hours.

yeah, mine would worked great, but wasnt real consistant as far as skimmate produced. propbably has to do with water level changing in the tank.

might want to double check slainity though, more thne likely ok, but worth a check. (low spg = less bubbles)

Depending on how well you cleaned the cup that could be your problem. I've heard it's beneficial to keep the neck of the cup dirty so the bubbles have something to cling to and accumulate. The collection amount varies too. Sometimes i get a lot of skimmate and other times i get less. Just make sure you not really wet skimming.

You want to keep the collection cup all the way down to capture the most skim mate as possible. So yes it will be all wet skim mate. When you clean the neck, just take a paper towel to clean the neck. It will begin working again soon depending upon the nutrients in your tank.

Volume of skimmate will vary with the amount of skimmable material in the water column. More after feeding, less in between the feeding.

A little spit in the tank should make the skimmer go crazy....just don't do it after sucking on a penny or something.

Fish like spit. Fish are weird.

But a few minutes after a little spit in the tank the skimmer should kick in.

Spit in the tank??? You mean just hock a luggie and send it into the tank? Never heard that one before. Who sucks on pennies? :)

I know when I first got my remora it skimmed like crazy the first week. I put the cup as high as possible to keep it from overflowing. Give it a week or two to break in and you should be fine.
