I recently purchased a piece of live rock from my local LFS to add to my 7 gallon tank. When I put it in my tank I noticed that it had two small anemones on it. I have tried several ways of trying to remove them from my tank with no success. Every time I try they retract and I cannot reach the base. I would normally not care if they were in there but I am changing this tanks to a coral tank for my office and don't wont to have issues in the future with them.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

dont pull them off. it will release a "seed" and you will have more. i imagine your talking about aiptasia. can use aiptasia-x, joes juice. boiling water injected into the stalk , and take the whole plant when it releases from the rock.or since its a small piece, might be easier to bleach the rock. which should kill the aiptasia.
