I have a 90g that is up and running at the moment by I would like to rearrange thing and move the sump under the tank. Only problem is I would have to remove the center circle brace to get it in. the stand is home made by the person I bought it from and seems to be over kill. Top is 2x6 layed flat then 6 verticle 2x6s at the 4 corners and 2 in the middle (like to remove one of these to get the tank in), 2x4 frame under the top with to cross braces, and each short side is 3 more 2x6s. Question is can I remove one of the center 2x6s to put the tank in the put out back without bracing the whole thing or should I brace it before removing?

Yeah, I'd post a picture. Keep in mind a 90 gallon tank is over 1,000 pounds without rock. You could possibly take 2 tanks/containers and just connect them to get around the brace problem.

We had to do that with our 55. We took a 2x4 and placed it under the bottom of the tank (we have a solid top to the stand that the tank sits on), brought in the car jack (LOL) and placed another piece of 2x4 on it facing straight up to the top 2x4 and jacked it up enough to knock out the center brace & support the center of the tank. Knocked out the brace, put in the sump, and replaced the brace with a wide piece of plywood (the old brace wouldn't go back in because the sump filled the bottom with only plywood width to spare). Not sure how long a 90 gallon is, might take two jacks.

Sorry I don't have any pics, but it took 2 of us doing it very quickly to get it done without risking the tank. It was definitely nerve-wracking!

Last pic in this thread shows someone else using a jack the same way we did DFW Marine Aquarium Society • View topic - New 400g tank linkage. ;).

Go with SushiGirl's method if only for peace of mind. But more likely safety.

You could probably get away with removing one of the center braces with our a problem.

Think I should add a temp brace to carry the load?

That is always a good idea, safety first. It may make replacing the brace easier also.
