I have been fighting algae bloom, It has moved into refugium. I Just took out one of the rocks from lighted refugium and placed in dark sump. Will this kill the algae? Will this also kill the coralline algie?

actually you want the algae in the refuge that's what it is for.I always remember what Tangster said in another thread, "the refuge is a smelly nasty looking swamp thing." something to that effect. That way if it's in the fudge then it starves the algae in the DT.

well maybe I should redifine my wants I was hoping to also make it a tank for seahorses not just a refugium for removing phosphate from main tank I put in mangroves and chato. Can I have a planted tank that is not nasty and get the results from it.
