So I just got my acropora in the mail today and it's on a frag plug with what looks like some red epoxy putty. What's the best way to go about taking it off the plug and moving it to some rocks. All I have to glue it down is some super glue gel. I don't have any epoxy.

You can pry it off with a knife or just cut it off as close to the base as possible with some wire cutters or bone shears

Then the super glue gel should be enough to hold it in place?

You should be able to break it off by hand. The bond should either break at the frag plug or under the acro. They are pretty hard so the actual frag shouldn't break.

Yep. I use IC-Gel by BSI, but really any super glue will work. Get the gel kind though.

And as mikejrice said, you can just torque that sucker off of the plug too 8)

Thanks for the help guys. That was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. It just popped right off the plug. K+ for the help.

Yep, it's in the upper portion of my tank just off center. It's a great piece and I'm glad I got it.

I would simply set the entire coral and plug it came in on in a hole on the rock work and allow it to stabilize a few weeks before stressing it even more . Buts thats me..
