Mushrooms can move themselves. I have never had any problems with my p. shrimp and coral. I have alot of them in my tank to prevent any aiptasia from sneaking in with any coral. I would leave it in.

Well, I guess I can keep it in my tank for now, but at least I know I can catch it if I ever need to again! ;D;D;D;D

Awesome you caught it but like other's have said, pep shrimp don't usually eat mushrooms, not saying they don't but it's very unlikely. Chances are your mushroom has moved...

Well, it was kinda coming out of a small hole in the rock, is it possible it somehow fit inside that hole to avoid the disturbance caused by the shrimp eating the aiptasia next to it? (The aiptasia was RIGHT next to it, but not quite touching).

I have had mushrooms move to the other side of the tank before. I bet it shows up one day to surprise you.

Well that's possible but most likely it moved for lighting or flow reasons. If you've just gotten the mushrooms or just upgraded your lights it could be trying to acclimate or it could be looking for more suitable flow.

Heck it could just be stubborn!!! ;D

peppermints wont go after coral unless it's dying mine was cleaning the dead tissue off my bubble coral when it was on it's last legs

are you sure it's a peppermint and not a camel shrimp though, they look nearly identical and camel shrimp will eat corals

The mushroom was a hitchhiker, so I've had it since I set my tank up. The lighting and flow has never been alter, and neither has the situation of the rock it's on. The ONLY thing that changed was the peppermint shrimp eating the aiptasia that was next to it.

    Mine looks EXACTLY like this:

Also, do camel shrimp eat aiptasia, because my shrimp certainly loves it.

Most likely it was not actually eating the shroom... if there was some dead tissue on it or around it, then it might be eating that. But I am pretty sure that they do not eat corals. Pretty odd if you ask me :S
