Removing Turf Algae Manually

    Not so much a nuisance just a few small spots that bother me. I'm really anal about the tank.

    Gotcha, I had red turf algae in a few small spots before. It stayed to itself for the most part and never got out of control. In other words, it wasn't as much of a nuisance as it is considered.

    I used that method with D&D purple reef putty to cover cracks in my live rock that had the remnants of GSP in them (as otherwise they would have just come back and grown over the rock surfaces again)

    it did work, but I suggest you dont do to much at any one time as the algae will be dying when blanketted by the putty and you dont want to cause a water quality issue, whilst dealing with this problem

    What a great idea. I have never seen any resolution to this type of turf algae, until now.;D

    Thanks for the great advice Steve. Yeah I will do a little bit at a time to rid my tank of the turf algae.

    Yeah I thought if you cant remove it, then bury it. ;D
