i use one on my 55 (i forget the watts, but it is just a bit smaller). it works fine. it keeps the temp within a degree of where my corallife digi thermometer says.
There is a red light that comes on if your water is more than 5 degrees over where you have the thermometer set at, mine doesnt seem to work properly, however the heater functions fine.
i hope this has been of help

Yes thank you, I read about this issue in a review b4 it seams it is a defect. Do you use yours inline or stand alone?

yes, i use mine inline attached to the intake for my xp3 canister filter. however, it is bulky and takes up space in the display tank. i just got a 75 myself (drilled with overflow) so i will no longer be using the rena canister filter.
i have a question for you... are you using a canister filter on your 75?
    thanks,
    JP

I have used a 300w model for almost two years. I love it. I have it in my sump running of a my carbon reactor, mj1200 flowing through it for all intensive purposes.
