    Anyone have any experience with either of these? They seem to be pretty close to comparable in price and function.

    Had the Hagen Aquaclear 30 on my nano tank

    never used the RENA so I cant compare
    I will say that the Hagen performed perfectly well for me, easy to set up, plug in and go and convenient filter media cleaning (basket holding purigen and GFO) and I was happy with it

    I know a number fo people who run the aquaclear on their nano tanks (2G-15G) and they love it.

    It looks to me like the Hagen has more options for media to use. This might sway me.
