My tank is originally an established FOWLR that was a couple of years old. I moved it in the beginning of August to my house. Bringing with it the water and LR and everything else.

The filter pads were replaced a week before this and a week after (1/2 before move and other 1/2 after move). I have two Aqua-Tec 30-60 running (total of 4 pads).

The tank was expected to go through a cycle (and it did) and I have now added the clean up crew (and they have a huge job in front of them that I expect will take a couple weeks).

I've read to not replace the filter pads during the cycle. So I am wondering if I should replace them now, before the clean up crew finishes (catches up) or if I should wait until the clean up crew have caught up on their cleaning responsibilities.

    What do you think, 3reefers?

Second question - anybody have any idea what the flow rate is in gph on the Aqua-tec 30-60? I found one review online that said 300gph, but it's not a reliable source.

I would go for changing your filters if you wanted as well. I like to replace my various media's about every 4-5 weeks.
I couldn't find anything on your filter either. Maybe try contacting the manufacturer?

Aqua Techs are Penguin Filters without the bio-wheel. They are made by Marineland and yours is the same as the Penguin 330.

They can even be retrofitted to use the bio-wheels.

On the cord you should have a sticker with Marineland and their phone number, mine does anyhow.

Thanks guys. Really helps in trying to estimate my turn over rate. About 33x so far. Figuring it'll go up once I add my skimmer and then I'll get a Koralia 1 if need be. Aiming for about 40x.
