The pump on my calcium reactor has finally given up on me and I need to replace it. The reactor is a MRC CR-2 dual chamber calcium reactor that I bought used. On their site it comes with a Blueline 10 (175gph) but the reactor came with a mag 2(250gph). I am looking for recommendations for a pump. I would like to keep the fittings the same which are half inch female on the inlet and half inch male on the outlet. The outlet would really be a problem its the inlet that would be a pain to try and adapt. So any advice would be well appreciated.

Why not get a a mag 2 or mag 3. They both are the same size and the same fitting will work.

Well you always hear bad things about em and the may two that was on there was kind of loud. On the other hand I don't know how old it was and the care it was given and I imagine using it for a calcium reactor is rough on it with the CO2 hitting the prop. I also wasn't sure if increasing the flow through it was worth while.

If you want plug an play the Mag is pretty much the only way. Most pumps all used different forms of connections so it is unlikely you will find one that will use the same connections. IYou can laways call MRC and find out.

If it were me I would just go with a Mag3
