I used to run a Coralife 65W 10000K/460 combo CF on my 20G tank. When the ballast burned out, I replaced it with my 70W HQI with 14000k bulb. I was told I don't need to supplement with actinics since the 14000k covers it all. But actinics are needed as well as the 10000K spectrum. I just don't remember which is better 420 or 460. 6700K will promote algae growth. That is used more often in freshwater tanks that have plants.
I also want to add: After using the combo bulbs for 2 years, I have learned that they don't seem to last as long as dedicated spectrum bulbs. The 10000K seem to yellow alot sooner than the actinic losing the blue spectrum. When I use up all my CF bulbs, I'll be buying no more combo bulbs and only 10000K and Actinic 03 bulbs separately.

Yeah, the 24" orbit has 10k and 420nm PC bulbs, no combo jobby.. I e-mailed Curent to ask if they would do the same for the 20" fixture.. no reply yep.. If only I spent $40 more.. So I'm looking at getting 2 10k/460 bulbs or 1 10k/460 and 1 460/420, but that may be too blue.
