Getting ready to replace the bulbs in our PC fixture but have no clue where to buy them online. Also wondering what the best set up would be. Its a 2x65 pc fixture, is there a certain type of bulb combo that will maximize the potential? Also is there a certain way to arrange the bulbs (does it matter what color is where in the fixture)? Thanks

order doesnt matter on a 2 bulb fixture unless you have 2 cords to run actinics on then daylights on then off then actinics off. if onlly 1 cord then put whatever order u want.

ReefGeek > Aquarium Supplies for Marine, Reef, and Saltwater Aquariums

UVL brand PC bulbs.. Best ones out there. super bright, long lasting, and built-in internal reflectors.

    I use 14k (75.25) and 454nm bulbs..

<-- my avatar are 454nm bulbs.. Flouresent like crazy. they are not listed on website, but they have them in stock, just call them. make sure you order the right pin configuration..

if you only have 2 bulbs, ones probly a white bulb and other is blue or actinics..

Super actinics (purple) or 454nm (blue) for 1 bulb
    and
12k, 14k , etc ..whatever you want for the other. they have 50/50 bulbs too..

what size tank you got? how wide?

what color do you want your tank to look like? white, white/slight blue, full blue? what type corals are you growing?

Its just a 24" wide 37g tank. Right now We just have some zoas, mushrooms, xenias and gsp and we will more then likely stick with simple corals with minimal light requirement until we upgrade the entire fixture. Until then though we wanted to maximize what we have. Dont really have a color preference as long as it isnt to yellow. Right now one bulb is a 10k and the other is a 460nm actinic, looks cheesy but then again the lights are over a year old and have lost most of their lustre. What does the 75/25 mean on alot of the bulbs that reef geek sells? Thanks for the help

thats a UVL 75.25 14k bulb its got daylight and mostly actinic values to it.. its really a pinkish colored bulb..

I would get a UVL 454nm for your actinic, and 12k actinic white or 14k aquablue 75.25. for your daylight.

they do have combo bulbs where 1 tube is say 12k and other tube on bulb is actinic. like below.

    12000K/Super Actinic

if you want the best of both worlds..

get a combo for 12k/actinic bulb for daylight
and get the 454nm for your actinic replacement. (call they have them in stock)

this combo will definitly eliminate any yellowish hue your having.. whiteish/blue with all lights on, blue when just actinics, colors will POP all day long.. :)

your zoas under just 454nm light..
