I'm confident in the work I do, but with that being 125g rimless, no way. Man that would be a hell of a mess. That's not where I would be trying to save a buck.

Sorry if I freaked you you with my comment. I've just heard horror stories and for me personally it would haunt me everyday. It would be a shame if something were to happen.
Is this tank still a possibility, are you still considering?

as already stated. I personally would not risk it... there are ways to save money in this hobby, but the backbone of your system is not the place IMO.

You can get tanks, dirt cheap. My buddy who owns the LFS here in town is selling a 125 AGA with built in overflows for 250 bucks right now. There are deals to be had. Honestly, starfire is cool but not cool enough to pay those prices. This is just my .02

uummm i'm not expert eaither but i would think that if your putting the cracked peice in back n not careing what it looks like would it be possible to just add a peice of glass on the inside of the tank infront of the other...... so it would be two panes of glass instead of one. could even smear caulk between the two n recaulk all the edges... just a thought i guess:-/

It wouldn't. You would see every inch of the caulking. The water enhances it and it looks super crappy. IMPE.

The glass would have to be cut absolutely perfect and it would actually spread the weight of the water in different locations causing the existing cracked glass to become weaker than it already is. Also IMPE.

Yeah I wouldn't do that, if I'm going to get this, I will probably pay a local glass shop to do the work for me, I did recently read a thread where a guy replaced the back pane on his rimless 150! So it did intrigue me, I definitely want a rimless tank though

I think I'm going to do it, a local guy who built his own rimless tank agreed to help
