Well,i regret to have to post this, but McLovin has not worked out, turns out he has a very aggressive side to him that made me fear the safety of my kids(he tried viciously to bite me).So instead of sending him back to the pound,i put him on craigs to try and find him a home that could handle him (once again, trying to save him),a couple picked him up the same day.I got a call last night from them to find out he went after her, they tried to take him to the pound, but they wouldn't accept him since he was registered to me.So i ended up having to pick him up and take him back.He will probably be destroyed due to his nature, but as much as hated to do it,i couldn't live with myself if somebody got hurt, especially a child. Now on the bright side,we found a local black lab pup(7 weeks old)on craigs and just got back a little bit ago with him,so now i feel so much safer with a labs good nature and loyalty, my boy is estactically happy with the new pup. What a messed up deal the last couple days have been.

Wow, sorry to hear that. But sometimes things like this does occur. But safety for yourself and others are very important as you stated with children in the picture. Glad things are still working out with the new addition to the family.. And let me be the first to say...Pic's please :)

I'm so sorry it didn't work out. But the safety of your family comes first. You tried to save him, and that's what counts.

Congrats on the new lil' guy! I bet he's a cutie. Labs are such wonderful dogs. He will be great with the kids.

Can't wait for pics! I love me some puppies! :)

Sorry to hear about the over-aggressiveness of the boxer. I have an American Bulldog (similar to a boxer, just 3x bigger ;D), and got him when he was 9 weeks old. To have a boxer, or any aggressive breed as an adult (2+ years), it is very difficult to train them to calm down. My American bit through my hand...yes through it, fangs through the top coming out the palm when he was about 6 months old, but was young enough that when I taught him who the stronger, more dominant one between the 2 of us was, he never tried again. He is a very sweet dog now. I have had aggressive breeds for a while now, and that seems to be the key. Once they get the "taste of blood," it is difficult to get them to stop. It is their nature. Happy to hear about your new new addition. Hopefully this one will work out.

I feel much safer now,we had a boxer before and was one of the best dogs we ever had,i knew they can be clumsy horses, but this one just had a mean streak that showed up out of nowhere, and your right,as much of an animal lover that i am,if one of my children were hurt,it would have all been in vein and i would have taken the dog out myself.

Exactly,i have no idea of what this boxers background was(abused, starved, fought?)But a labs mild nature and getting him as a pup will work out much better,so yea!here comes potty training, chewing and all the other fun stuff you go through with a pup,but he'll have a chance to grow with the family without any abuse which i know will make a huge difference.Thank you.
