I bought a 35 gallon hexaon tank and the seals are really cheap
Looking and I'm sure it'll hold water, but what I'm asking is, is
Their any way I can "add" sealent and make it extra tough?

I ve used the aquarium sealant, that they sell at the hardware stores (Home Depot in my market) its in the tubes and clearly states for aquarium. Ive used in my sump for making seperate compartments and it seals with no leakage.
At 4.00 bucks a tube, you might be looking at maybe 3-4 tubes depending on the size of the bead you make.
    Good luck

If you mean adding silicone to the existing silicon in the seams, it can't be done. Silicone will not stick to silicone.

Glad you said that, not sure how, but strangly I got lucky and it adhered on the project I did.

I had used "Aquarium Sealant" by "DAP" 100% silicone.

    Sorry for the mis-advise-
    still bewildered:confused:

You could probably make real wide beads that overlapped the old silicone and adhered to the glass but it would be unsightly. I wouldn't recommend this for a leaking tank but this may give you a little extra over the old.

I agree, in thinking this through that is what most likely was my case. I had overlapped and it was making contact with both sides which were silicone free. The tank had such a small bead the new one I did wasnot unsightly-Enough on this topic-LOL

ok last night i sanded down the black part on the top and bottome of the tank and painted it (making sure to tape off EVERYTHING i didnt want paint on) and filled it with water. woke up and i noticed there was a lil bead of water on the wood i had put under the tank. thought nothing of it, went to work and when i got off work i checked it out again and noticed there was a lil more water than last time... and its only on the 1 cornor, then again i cant see under the tank to see if it had leaked under it....
is there ANYTHING i can add to the silicone or somthing to seal it good and tight?

I have resealed hex tanks before, first you have to cut out all of the old silicone don't miss any, being it's a hex tank that means inside and out but don't remove the trim on the top and bottom, most i have seen the glass in the corners don't touch like on a normal shaped tank, make sure to get all edges real clean, then reseal with 100% silicone in and out all at one time, let dry for at least 2 days before sitting it outside to leak test for 24 hours. a side note there a pain to do compared to a normal shaped tank.
