Hey Everyone-- I'm setting up a reservoir that will feed my sump.. Here is how it it is set up..

RO/DI unit runs and feeds the reservoir through a kent float valve. When the reservoir is full the float closes the valve to the RO/DI unit.

There is a bulkhead in the bottom of the reservoir that has a tube that goes from the reservoir to another float valve in the sump. When the sump needs water it pulls from the reservor until the float valve closes.. Then the process starts over.

My question is do I need to heat, or put a powerhead in the reservoir? Right now my tank evaporates about 1 - 1 1/2 gallons a day.

I would say no. It adds it slowly enough that it won't matter. You won't need a power because there is nothing to mix or keep moving, it's just H20

I agree with guitar. I don't really see the need as well.

my concern was more about that water sitting stagnet. but at only 10 gallons I think it will cycle enough that it shouln not be a problem. Does my set up sound like it wil work? any feedback, positive or negative?
