Restricting overflow

    2 things....

    1. Given a large U tube, could the water siphon out of the wet side faster than the return can make up, causing a slurping situation?

    2. would a smaller U tube work to restrict the flow rate without the inherent problems associate with ball valves?

    NEVER ever restrict an overflow, this is asking for a flood. The return pump will determine the flow rate not the overflow.

    Ok, as others have said, never restrict the the overflow.

    As for the CPR. They are a good overflow. I still have one and love it.

    You must however keep up on the maintenance. At least once per month, you need to remove the Foam Prefilter, Pipe Strainer, and Screen Strainer and clean throughly. If you do this, you should have no problems.

    I would also recommend running a Aqualift as well. For 12 bucks, it is very cheap insurance.

    Yea I use a CPR myself and it works great
