retrofitting fixture from pc to t5

i have a coralife 2/250 watt hqi mh w/ 2 96 watt pc atinic is it possible to switch the pc out and replace it w/ t5 or would that be a total pain i just think i would get better color w/t5 for atinic what do you guys think?

 

You will need to replace the ballasts and reflectors in the change. If you are using only actinic then you may not want to bother. Any other light color then maybe depending on your electrical skills.

 

thats what i was wondering if it would be worth it skills are fair i just thought the t5 has a more larger selection of bulbs and better color than pc seems all i can find w/ pc is 2 types of atinic 460 &420

 

There really isn't any difference in T5HO actinic from PC. You still have 420 and 460. UVL has a 454. You definitely have a better selection of brands to choose from. If you do decide to change look at Hellolights.com - Your Aquarium Lighting Superstore! and their retrofit kits. You will need to purchase bulbs separately.
