    Hi everyone. yes i've tried suicide:eek:. twice. Depression..... one thing that i really enjoyed the last time was the passion for aquariums. So here i am after 10 years of exile. The last time i had lost 12 thousand dollards worth of corals due to powers shortage and bad weather. This time i'm going with a power generator. The new set up is two 75G starfire tanks on top of each other with a 30G sump in the base of the stand. The LED on the middle tank, the main tank will house the reef the top tank is the algae biotope with my sea horses shrimps and crabs .Closed loop because i want an anemone in there the last one with power-heads got moooshed ,lol so that my constructive project for the next few months of therapy. From the deep ends my friends.:)

    sounds like quite an interesting set up and idea. Welcome back to the hobby and hopefully you'll be starting all of this at a good time with the weather factor. I love seahorses - can you expound on algae biotope? Kind of like a refugium? only with wildlife?

    Please post your progress because this sounds very, very interesting!!

    Hi, welcome. Glad you are back in the hobby. May I recommend you also incorporate a battery backup to automatically kick in in case you're not home for the power outage? Also, with some of the new reef controllers they can alert you via text or email of a power outage.

    I can take it lol

    Thanks guys , i intend too have a back up this time . And yes Picture i like to take lots . I'll start a special thread just for it, as soon as i get those tanks. The Co. is in Toronto and i haven't got an answer yet. So got to be patient apparently. They say 5 to 8 weeks for standard orders but mine has a custom stand, one that has to support 3 tanks, two 75 G and one 30G sump so .... Yep.... :p it may be a while lol but it will give me more time to research the other stuff which is;

    Suggestions on ;

    - Skimmers i hear alot about Octopus for 200 G system or 100 G
    -1 LED for the reef tank no idea there, i don't need a disco if you know what i mean...
    -1 florescent for the biotope, miracle mud, algae , sea horses, shrimps, crabs no snails in fact.
    -Pump what going on there these days, closed loop for me.
    - Heater
    -1 pump for return to the biotope

    For leds I highly recommend DIY, Maxspect Razor, or Reefbreeders fixtures.
