I am just about to upgrade my return pump to a rio 2100 and want to add in connections for a reactor or two, and give myself the option to expand in the future as needs arise. Here's what I frankensteined together, but I thought I'd post it for review before I glued anything. The tank return will get a union and a diverter before it's installed, and I made the sections between fittings long enough to cut each in the center and glue in another fitting just in case.

    woops, sorry, that should work.

    Suggestions?

It's my assumption that you want your main return line after your valves. Otherwise, you may not get the flow you are hoping for out of your secondary/tertiary valves.

    Can anyone confirm/deny?

Is the first one for water changes?

I dont think I can put the main return after the valves because of the physical layout of the sump and tank, unfortunately. Or not without a lot of carpentry or moving the tank. Hopefully it will flow enough to fluidize the small amount of media required for a 55g tank.

The bypass with the ball valve is to feed some of the output back to the sump just in case my PVC overflows cant keep up (don't think will be a problem, but better to have and not need, than need and not have, ya know). If I don't need it, I can always just remove it and cap the T.
