return piping

Hooking my return pipes like Birdlady has, and Iam using PVC is there any way that I can paint the pvc black so that it is not so noticable? I was thinking about burning the outter shell of the pipe but don't know of any chemical reaction in the water.

Does anyone know of any kind of paint that is ok in Saltwater?

 

You could use schedule 80 pipe which is gray instead of white.

 

I have white PVC in my Tank. With in a month or so it has been covered in Coraline

Is black PVC not a possibility? I used Black PVC for all of the parts that were going to be visible. Sometimes you can find the schedule 40 black PVC at Home Depot/Lowes/Ace. However, I bought all of my PVC from http://www.savko.com/.

I can't find any black pvc anywhere. I have been to Ace, Sears, Homedepot, Lowes, Manards and even some plumbing stores.

I like the like web site idea will have to check them out. How long did it take to get to you. I want this stuff by the weekend for sunday is the only day since I work 14hr days 6 days a week.

 

i have pvc in my tank also. it was covered in coraline in a month or so.

 

savko is pretty good about shipping and stuff, i have ordered from them twice, not sure if they could get it to you by Sunday though! Make sure u take a total inventory of stuff you may need before placing the order, that way you don't miss anything. And it's always a good idea to get a few extra pieces and a few extra feet (since it is so cheap) and that way, you won't have to pay double shipping if you realize you need to place another order.



My last order I placed with them was placed on July 20th and it was shipped by July 23rd...not sure exactly when it got here though!

The only black I've found black is at that savco, If you go to a plumbing supply store you can get Schedule 80 (Grey).
