Soooo really thinking i need more circulation in my DT, can i just throw a spare return pump(maxijet 1800) in there and suction it to the wall? LOL

i dont see what this could hurt, besides being ugly.

    Any thoughts?

What size is your tank, what type of livestock, and how much flow do you already have?

Ya mean like a big power head in your DT? Na, never saw that! J/K :-0

Do what you like, see if it helps/does what you're after

It sort of depends. There is total water movement and there is velocity. We want a lot of water movement, but low velocity. Usually return pumps are made to do the opposite, or both. Pointing it at the surface, or the back wall might work, you could try. I wouldn't point it directly at anything though. Power heads usually work much better...

    75 gal, 2 TERRIBLE POS JUNK koralia 750s, and 1 amazing MP10!
I am saving up to get an mp40 to go with the mp10, but the tank already seems happier with the higher current/flow/water movement.

I was thinking about taking a piece of flex tubing, attaching it to the maxijet and running it along the back top wall, and drill holes in it. Like a spray bar. But how would i figure out how many holes i should have?

What is the pump rated for with only a couple feet of head pressure?

uhh its a maxijet 1800 i believe, so 474gph? But it is in a pretty straight jet, but makes a nice current in the tank! I can tell my sps are enjoying it!

I would say six to eight 1/2" holes should do it. Make sure to plug the end of the tubing or it will mostly go out that way.
