I'm currently looking at some pumps for my return. You can check my page or the link in my signature for my setup info. In short I will have to have at least 750gph at 6' of head.

Can anyone give advice/opinions on the Taam Rio 20hf?

They are good pumps, I use the 8HF on my tank. I would suggest you get a return pump that runs no more than 10 times the sump's volume at 6 foot head. This allows your skimmer to be more efficient and lessens the chances of micro bubbles once everything breaks in.

I think it is but I have bad hearing so take it with a grain of salt. If your stand is closed off it definitely will keep the sound down. I have seen where guys have used sound dampening material in their stands also. Placing a mouse pad under the pump will help deaden the noise some too.
