So love my sicce 3.0 but upgrading to a 125gal.
So was thinking sicce 5.0 but they are like $200 new, when I can get a quiet one with same gph for around 140!

Anyways, my lfs is having a 20% off everything sale on sat, so I could get the sicce 5.0 for around $150.

Anyone have any other pumps they recommend before i pull the trigger on the sicce?

Anyone want me to pick them up one while I am there? ;) lol

Hmm. Why is that a better pump? I would most likely never control it, except for water changes when I turn my return off. The overflows can handle 1200gph max. So I figure after head loss I would be fine with the 1300gph from sicce.

Is there any reason to get it that's better then besides the control-ability?

Efficiency/heat mainly. Sicce uses 105 watts and will pump 1070 GPH @ 5' head. RO Diablo uses 30 watts and will pump ~800GPH @ 5' head. 75% of the flow, for under 30% of the power. I will take that any day.

As I said, they are "untested" to date, so that is the only negative right now. But if they perform and last, they are definitely worth it IMO!

And they have a decent warranty! So what the heck!

Just called local fish store, he said he would check on what kinda price he can get and let me know.
Also said he would only mark it up so I am still getting 20% off retail price.

    Thanks for the input!

    I'm using a Deep Blue Trition 4.
    1040 GPH @ 40 watts.

Think they've been out about 2 years. They are very well priced.
My LFS convinced me to give them a try, over the much more $$$ Sicce I was looking at. They run 2 or 3 of them on their main display and really like them.

I'm very happy with mine thus far. Only been using it for about 6 months tho.
    It is very, very quite.
