    I have a 75 gallon RR tank and I am looking for a return pump. Is the Mag Drive 7 too big of a pump? It is rated to 700 gph.

    Perfect IMO. That is what I run on my 72g and I love the flow and the small size of it. Can be external too.

    Generally most people will recommend 3 to 5x the display volume for a return pump rate. The Mag 7 does 700 GPH at 0 feet of head and is more like 420 to 480 GPH at 4-5' of head which is pretty common. It is right in line with where you need to be, always look at the flow rate after head calculations on a return pump.
