Return pump

    As return pump for my 125 reef I used Mag 12. But I was not hapy with noise, so I bought Eheim 1262. Eheim is even louder then Mag 12. Im in shock!!!!! Any other pump you can suggest?? Thanks

    You're right, the Eheim should be quieter, unless there is an issue with your return plumbing.
    1" or smaller diameter plumbing for that size pump will cause a lot of friction and noise. The pump vibrations could be isolated by a pad under the pump, and/or a flex line connected directly to the pump.

    I agree alot of noise comes from how the pump is plumbed. If the Eheim is plumbed correctly it should be very quiet.

    I have a mag pump and the noise is the plumbing, not the pump!

    I have to agree. My Mag is very quiet, and when I do hear noise, it's because the flexible hose is vibrating against the side of my sump/fuge. As soon as I move it, the noise goes away.
